Lady Warriors’ Lacrosse to Play in State Championship
by Kaleigh Homer ’15
The Lady Warriors’ lacrosse team has made their way to states, after beating Howard High School in the semi-finals 17-14 this past Saturday. The girls came out with a win by getting fired up and keeping the momentum in their hands the whole game.
Tomorrow at UMBC the girl’s will be facing Broadneck, who is known for having an outstanding lacrosse team. The Lady Warriors plan to beat Broadneck by maintaining possession throughout the game.
“We work on keeping possession, that’s really our game plan for everything. If we have the ball then we get the scoring opportunities and they don’t,” said junior Natalie Sebeck.
The girls made it to regionals last year, but lost. This year they have made it all the way to states and they are ready to win. “We’re practicing defending cuts and possession to prepare us for states. Nothing can stop us,” said junior Emily Kenul.
Make sure to come out tomorrow to UMBC at 6:00 p.m. to support the team.
