The Warrior was recognized as a Gold Medalist, the highest honor, by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) for the 2009-2010 school year. This is the second year in a row that The Warrior has received that distinction.

The Warrior was regarded by the CSPA judge as “a newspaper that quite clearly reflected the knowledge and dedication of its staff and adviser.” It was specifically praised for its reporting and interviewing skills, writing skills, features, and mastery of design and photography techniques.

The CSPA is owned by Columbia University and is affiliated with its Graduate School of Journalism.
