Destruction of Department of Ed

As the White House reportedly prepares an executive order to get rid of the Department of Education, which could seriously mess up schools across the country. There are some people that think the states should control their own education, but removing federal support would do more harm than good. Millions of students around the country rely on these federal programs like grants, student loans, and special education programs. Without these resources, many schools will be affected, especially those in low-income communities. This would create struggles, making it even harder for students to get a quality education. Getting rid of this department wouldn’t fix education; it would create problems and take away the support from the people who need it most.

If this were to actually happen, students would be the ones who pay the price. College will become even more expensive and become even harder to afford. Public schools can lose their federal fundings and the students who need extra help might not get it. Teachers will also struggle without the necessary resources to help their students. Schools need more money, not less, and students deserve better opportunities, not fewer. Instead of cutting funding, the focus should be on making education more affordable and improving struggling schools and students. Taking away these resources will only hurt students, teachers, and families, making it harder for future generations to succeed.
