The boys varsity basketball team had their season cut short in the first round of regionals on February 25 in a 75-43 loss to rival Blake. The team kept it close through most of the first half until Blake went on a late run and mounted a sizeable lead that the Warriors were never able to come back from. This concludes a season that many have concluded to not have been up to expectation. The team struggled to find rhythm after a slow start to the year and finishes with a total of  5 wins on the season.

Two of the Warriors 5 wins came in the team’s final two games leading up to playoffs, ending with scores of 68-66 against Kennedy and 77-71 against Quince Orchard. These were two of the team’s best games of the season and could be a good sign moving forward. Although the team is losing impact seniors next year like Donovan Prophet, Nate Natoli, and Brandon Daniels, the Warriors  are getting back juniors like Mason Eller, Fontaine Green, Amari Allen, and Travis Mobley who all played a significant amount this year. With another year under these junior’s belts and an offseason of hopeful development, the Warriors hope to bounce back next year.

It is safe to say that this was not the season the Warriors hoped for heading into it, but a lot of the team returning means they get more time to mesh and have a better season next year.
