Covid Is Not Over

Covid-19 has affected the whole planet and everyone has had their lives changed. However, this is not an excuse to stop wearing masks and social distancing just because quarantine has been in place for over half a year. Events like Fake Homecoming (FOCO) and the Powderpuff game are putting people at risk for contracting the virus, especially when nobody is wearing a mask or social distancing at these events with large numbers of people.
Teenagers have been posting pictures on social media maskless and not following social distancing protocol, and it’s leading many to worry. Even if someone likely is not at risk of getting very sick from the virus, going maskless in these large events could spread the virus all the way to someone who cannot afford their lives to contract it. This worry is only rising with the news of events happening like FOCO and the Powderpuff game, especially when there isn’t a single mask in sight. It isn’t sensitivity when people say ‘put on a mask;’ it’s care for the general population’s health. Covid hasn’t gone away, and it doesn’t look like it will anytime soon, so stop acting like it’s gone and put on a mask.
