Girls’ Volleyball Undefeated Through 11 Games
By Will Van Gelder ’16
“We had seen [Blair] earlier in the year at the Magruder Tournament so we knew ahead of time the adjustments we had to make. Everyone on the team responded well to the minor fixes and we were able to go in there and win in straight sets. They are well coached and have a very tough defense; they made us earn each point as they had very few errors on their side of the net.” These are the words of Coach Benjamin Sanger after the Warriors’ most recent win against Magruder. Sherwood has been on a tear this season winning the first 11 games out of the gate none in more than four sets.
The girls are putting on an impressive show of force and are poised to make the playoffs. They won all six games in a tournament at Magruder on Saturday September 20, taking them all in straight sets. They have a game coming up this Thursday at home against Springbrook, and they are asking for a large crowd to come out for the game on Wednesday October 8th against Blake at home, where proceeds will go to Breast Cancer research. They are having a great season and could really use some support.
