The Warriors raced Quince Orchard on October 8 in the 5K mile run. The boys’ team lost to the Cougars by a score of 19-38. The top runner for The Warriors was Jefferson Mercado-Ruiz who came in fourth place with a time of 17:16. The girls were victorious with a score of 27-28. Amanda Hayes-Puttfarcken led the way for the girls’ team coming in second place with a time of 20:07. Both teams are 1-4 on the season and look to make progress at the MCPS Championship on October 19. “Even though we haven’t had the best season so far we can still finish the season off strong with good outings at the MCPS Championship and the Regional Championship,” said senior Jarrett Harman.
