Sherwood Warriors 81-
Seneca Valley Screamin’ Eagles 62
Led by seniors Charlie Rogers and Scott Bolen, the Sherwood Warriors (1-0) whizzed passed the Seneca Valley Screamin’ Eagles (0-1) en route to a 19-point opening night win.
Rogers led all scorers with 32 points and Bolen, nipping at his heels with 31. Jerry McFadden led the way for the Eagles with 27 points.
“[This win shows] everyone in the county we have all the firepower in the world. We didn’t play good defense and some of us were ice cold,” said Bolen. “But once we put it all together, we’re gonna go forward and start beating teams by 30, 40 or 50.”
Sherwood would love to win by a large margin against cross-county contender Churchill next Friday when they cross swords in Potomac at 7 p.m.
“It’s gonna be a battle,” Rogers said. “We’re gonna see who’s more prepared, who’s better conditioned and who’s better coached.”
