Logic Satisfies the Hometown Crowd

On March 4, rapper Psychological, a.k.a. Logic, performed at the sold-out Fillmore venue in his hometown of Silver Spring. His fans waited patiently in the pouring rain to see their hometown hero take stage and sing from his most recent album “Under Pressure.”

Logic performed with DJ Drizzy Wright and local up-and-coming rapper Michael Christmas. Before Logic took the stage, Christmas performed his most popular singles such as “Michael Cera” and “Mess With Me” but left the crowd unsatisfied and chanting for more. However, Logic stayed backstage while Wright made an entrance and played 90s throwback music which did get the crowd moving, but some music-goers just couldn’t contain their love for Logic. People were getting anxious as they waited for Logic, and the crowd overall could have done without the opening acts.

The crowd awaited his arrival until around 10:30 pm when Logic jumped on stage and stole the crowd’s heart with his number one single “Soul Food,” followed up by “I’m Gone.” He played through his entire new album and closed the show with an emotional single, “Nikki,” which refers to his early addiction to nicotine and how he has fallen out of love with it. And finally, just as the crowd began to wonder if he was going to sing the album’s main song, “Under Pressure,” the lights dimmed, the beat dropped and Logic let loose exactly what everyone had been waiting for. Needless to say, Logic never disappoints.

The overall venue was astonishing. The venue was small enough that members of the audience felt like they were on the stage with Logic. The size of the venue helped the concert feel more personal. Anyone that left the concert Wednesday night would agree that not only is he a five-star performer, but that he knows how to show love to the true fans that brought him to where he is today.
