NFL Week 3 – Giants Stomp the Skins
By Stephen Luckey ’15
In the Thursday night matchup between the Washington Redskins and division rival New York Giants, the Redskins were unfortunately demolished by quarterback Eli Manning and the key tight end Larry Donnell for a 45-14 loss. The game initially started off pretty tight, until the third quarter came around and the quarterback Kirk Cousins found it with in him to somehow teleport four interceptions to the New York secondary. Coming from a loyal and die-hard Redskins fan perspective, I couldn’t be more disappointed in the efforts portrayed in Landover. Wide Receiver DeSean Jackson has more reception yards against the Giants than any other opponent throughout his career, so to see the inexcusable wide out perform at such a mediocre level is sickening. What went wrong? That is a tough one, seeing that the game was in reach for both sides until the second half started. If I had a guess, I’d say that the Redskins defensive line is arguably one of the worst. Three of New York’s backs were able to get stats, such as Rashad Jennings, Peyton Hillis and Ahmad Bradshaw. Now the Redskins host Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks at home for Monday Night Football. Good luck boys.
