Masks Essential in Drive-Throughs

Using drive-throughs and ordering food for pickup has become more common while indoor seating is restricted due to Covid-19. Most people remove their masks when they get in their cars. However, many people do not recognize the need to wear a mask in a drive-through. Whether you are getting food through your car window or placed in the trunk of your car, it is important to wear your mask to not only keep you safe, but the workers who see countless people each day. 

Almost everyone knows by now to wear a mask when they go inside public buildings or within six feet of others outside their households. So why wouldn’t you wear one in a drive-through? When you reach through the car window to grab your food, you are close enough to either spread or contract Covid-19 despite being in the comfort of your own car. Wearing a mask is not only considerate to the workers, it will make them feel safer and more comfortable in their already difficult jobs. Wear a mask in drive-throughs, the essential workers will appreciate it.
