Isolated But Unified

It is a scary time to be alive right now. News about the Coronavirus floods each and every media outlet, constantly reminding people across the globe of the grim realities that accompany this pandemic. Fear for family members and friends is instilled in the hearts of those staying in their homes, worsened by the inability to help or check on them. Normal routines have been halted, unemployment rates have skyrocketed while the stock market has plummeted, and everyone is left with the same question: when is this going to end?

A cloud of unknown surrounds the world right now. It is hard to imagine this global emergency ever ending, but with every storm comes a rainbow. Although everyone is in isolation, the world is coming together for the first time in years. Status and wealth play no role in privileges held during quarantine, putting everyone at the same level. The Coronavirus affects all people alike, minimizing a societal gap that has divided the country for years. On a global scale, the human race is fighting a common enemy. International conflicts have been set aside, and the globe is coming together to defeat covid-19. We as a planet are all afraid, but we can all find comfort in the fact that we are in this together.
