American Music Awards Outfit Review

Billie Eilish:

Billie walked the red carpet in a plaid jogger set with a rhinestoned undershirt and head covering. This look was designed by Burberry with a beekeeper vibe in mind. Although the beekeeper look is well shown through the outfit, this is a very well put-together outfit. Eilish always wears baggy clothing that does not show off her body, and this look definitely continues that trend for her. However, this was not the most well styled outfit to keep that aesthetic as well as be a classy red carpet kind of look. The plaid pattern of the set and the rhinestone mesh do not work well together. It mixes the classy vibe from rhinestones with a more casual vibe of plaid that, in the end, does not really work. This outfit would have been a lot better for the red carpet and her overall style if she took away the rhinestone mesh. That way it would be more of a “Billie Eilish” kind of outfit that suited her style and personality.

Lizzo:

For this event, Lizzo showed up in a tangerine orange ruffle mini dress designed by Valentino. Styled with the dress was simple white heels and a small, white purse. There is everything to love about Lizzo’s look for the awards. The color of the dress is very flattering with her skin tone, and the white accent pieces are a nice touch to the outfit. The style of the dress also was very well suited for her body type and accentuated her legs nicely.  The small purse is very different than what everyone else would bring to an award ceremony, and I love how she did that which is a compliment for its originality.

2019 American Music Awards - Arrivals

Selena Gomez:

Selena’s first outfit of the evening was a ruffled chartreuse minidress from Versace’s spring 2020 collection. Paired with the dress were matching heels and diamond necklaces. It’s a very bold look, but there are problems with the color choice of the matching dress and heels. The chartreuse nicely complements her skin tone as well as her new bob hairstyle, but overall this dress does not quite work for her. In the past when she has attended red carpet events, her dresses and/or tops always show off her upper body. This dress is too low and squeezes her upper body too tight, causing it to look unflattering for her body type. This look could be improved with a more fit and flare kind of dress, while still keeping it fun with the ruffle.

Post Malone's Checkered Black-and-White Suit at the AMAs

Post Malone:

In the past Post Malone has showed up to the red carpet in different tuxedos with many variations of colors and designs. This one tuxedo for the American Music Awards 2019 is by far the best one yet. The plaid three piece suit is definitely a step out of his style comfort zone. The matching hat line with barbwire had Post Malone written on it as well. It was a fun twist on a classic cowboy hat. This is one of my favorite looks of the entire event. His outfit was very well put together and looked really good on the red carpet.
