Who is 2KFORBES?

Remi Ali, commonly referred to as 2KFORBES, has become a big deal around Sherwood and a few other schools in the area. Ali makes high school and college highlight reels, and short sports films. The platform for Ali, a 24-year-old Silver Spring native, is centered around the DMV and that’s where he wants to build his empire.

“I’ve played basketball all my life and have always loved gaming. I always tried to edit my gaming highlights so I was familiar with editing software,” Ali explained. “So after I transferred to Maryland from Frostburg State, I was back in the area and just wanted to try and film a school around the area, which was Blair.”

Ali thought he could start filming and creating his own brand around it because he believed he could connect with fans due to his personality. Since starting his brand he has realized that hard work will always come to light even if you don’t think people are paying attention. Ali says that the quality of the camerawork and one’s ability to connect with fans is crucial to succeed in this space of work. Ali also thanks his supporters for where he is today and says without their feedback he wouldn’t be where he is now.

“My purpose for my social media platform is simple, I want to change these kids’ lives. I want to create a different type of buzz in our area where 2KFORBES can be a hub for schools in our area.”
