Fashion Businessman and Social Media Influencer Suliman “Facet” Hasan, who is African-American, posted a video of him being wrongly detained by police in Fulton County, Georgia on September 14. The video has received more than 84,000 views.

In the incident, the police were called to The Georgian Terrace apartment complex in response to a complaint about the stench of marijuana coming from a specific room. The police arrived and told Facet and his friends to exit their room. As seen in his video, when the officers tell Facet why they have arrived, Facet asks the officer “Do you smell weed?” and the officer responds, “I smell air freshener.” The officer repeats that statement until she adds, “It smells like someone had sprayed something to cover up an odor.”

“Now you smell us leaving and cologne on me,” replied Facet. ” Air freshener is not illegal.” After this statement by Facet, the officers stopped responding to his questions.

As Facet is being detained, he repeatedly asks “What crime do you suspect me of?”  but his questions continue to be ignored by the officers. It was later revealed that he was taken to jail and charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and willful obstruction of a law officer. He is no longer in custody, but charges were not dropped.
