Hard Work Pays Off for Softball Team

The Warriors have completed a perfect 15-0 regular season, adding to an undefeated winning streak that is now at an amazing 56 games. The team has recently one its biggest game against Blair. The score was 0-0 until junior Julie Swarr hit a triple to left field in the seventh inning to score two runs. “Julie came through and it was such a big relief,” said senior catcher Rachel Harrison.

Even though they are two-time defending state champions, the team is taking on game at a time in the playoffs. This has been Coach Ashley Barber-Strunk’s approach since the beginning of the season. The Warriors have a bye in the first round of the playoffs and then play Blake on Monday. If they win it is likely they will be facing Howard.

The temptation must be there to look ahead to a chance that the Warriors will play Blair again in the regional finals. “We just need to stay focused on our goal of a three-peat and keep our foot on the gas and not let up,” said Swarr.
