The boys’ volleyball team finished off their regular season game with a record of 8-3, losing only to Clarksburg, Richard Montgomery and Wootton.  More recently in the regular season the Warriors beat Blake on Friday, April 4, then Gaithersburg on April 7, Walter Johnson on April 23, and Damascus on Monday, April 28. In each of these games the Warriors beat their opponents in three sets.

“We played well throughout the season, continuously getting better. We got the chance to play top teams in the county which allowed us to raise our level of understanding what it will take to beat them overall this team has continued to work hard and has set themselves up with an opportunity to win the county championships,” said coach Ben Sanger.

As the team went to playoffs, Sanger prepared them by focusing on each rotation and making sure the team knew their defensive assignments. The Warriors also went back to the basics of passing and ball control to ensure that they could run their offense efficiently. In the first round of playoffs the boys played Kennedy and beat them in three sets on Thursday May 1. The following Thursday, the Warriors played Clarksburg, whom they lost to during a regular season game, and lost again in three sets.

“I’m really proud of how much we pulled together our team, we had a lot of people step up and take charge this year,” said junior Ryan Gallagher. “Clarksburg was a tough match and they managed to get the better of us. Hopefully we’ll get to see them again next year.”
