Girls Lacrosse Looks to Continue Success

By Joey Lavoie ‘14

After an undefeated 2013 regular season, the Sherwood Warriors’ girls’ lacrosse team is looking to return to the state finals once again behind senior Emily Kenul. The senior midfielder committed to play lacrosse at John Hopkins University in Baltimore, where she will follow K.C. Emerson (’11) to one of the best lacrosse schools in the country. After finishing last season with a 21-5 loss versus Arundel County powerhouse Broadneck, the Warriors look to a strong group of underclassmen who will play a huge role in this season and the team’s future.  A season later, a group of sophomores will be leaned on heavily to learn quickly and continue the success of a 16-win team that dominated Montgomery County last season following seven seniors’ departures.

“We lost a lot of great players but we still have a great team intact,” said sophomore Connor Ganey. “There are nine of us sophomores and we are ready to step up and help us get to where we were last year in the playoffs.”
