Senior Emily Kenul made 1st team All-Met for field hockey as reported by The Washington Post. Kenul scored 29 goals, which led the county, and had 16 assists as she helped lead the Warriors to their first state tournament appearance since 1985.

“[Making 1st team all-met] means a lot because you’re chosen from out of so many people. And it really shows how well the field hockey team did this year getting to state semis and having such a great record that we were considered for All-Met,” said Kenul.

Kenul’s teammate, senior Gabrielle Yore, made 2nd team All-Met. Yore was also a dominant scorer and key factor in the team’s success. Yore’s 25 goals made her the second highest score in the county, right behind Kenul.

In addition to Kenul and Yore, multiple athletes from Sherwood received an Honorable Mention. Senior football players Alec Perez and Elijah Spotswood received Honorable Mentions for their stellar defensive performances this fall. Perez led the county in interceptions with six, and Spotswood had four of his own. In addition, senior Makayla Roy got Honorable Mention for volleyball. Roy racked up 162 kills as an outside hitter and led the Warriors to a 15-2 record.
