The Warriors have continued their winning ways en route to a 10-0 start. Sherwood has controlled both sides of the field this year, as they have managed to combine a dangerous offensive attack with a stellar defense.

On the season, Sherwood has outscored opponents 48-5 while securing 6 shutouts. There has only been one game on the season in which an opponent has managed more than a single goal against the Warriors. The offense has found no trouble scoring goals this season, as Seniors Gabrielle Yore and Emily Kenul have set the pace by scoring 15 and 20 goals, respectively. Many other seniors have stepped up on the team as well, including Haroula Tzamaras, Christina Ricciuiti, and Mollie Russell. The impressive contributions don’t stop there however, as all three sophomores on the team, Zoe Sweeney, Dani Pignone and Connor Ganey, are starting.

Sherwood improved to 10-0 after a 3-0 win against a very tough Blake team at Blake on October 2. Coach Amy Morse has been impressed with the team’s collective character. “Their work ethic is stellar and they don’t settle for mediocrity. They know this is the team that can take them far in the playoffs and they are pushing each other to be the best. They want to be undefeated but still have their sights set on playoffs,” said Morse. Sherwood looks to keep the good times rolling as they face a tough Gaithersburg squad on Monday.
