Warriors Get Fourth Seed In Playoffs

by Alec Perez ’14

The Warriors head into the playoffs with the fourth seed in the West region. The team had a bye in the first round. Their first opponent is the fifth seeded Blair Blazers. Earlier in the season the boys beat the Blazers. They won the game with a score of 19-2. Expect the team to come out strong and roll past Blair. If Churchill beats Blake, than the Warriors have to face Churchill in the third round. They got the number one seed in the West. This will be a tough match for the team. In the beginning of the season they lost to Churchill 10-6. “Our game plan is to keep the ball away from their attack and have long possessions on offense. We need to stick to our game plan and minimize turnovers. Other than that we have to come out strong and with a sense of urgency and just rep the wood,” said Junior Justin Koenick.

What’s happened: The team faced two tough opponents in the their last two games of the regular season. The boys played their hearts out but they fell to the grasps of Walter Johnson’s tight defense and Quince Orchard’s strong will to win. They lost to Walter Johnson by a score of 14-6. They lost to Quince Orchard 11-10.
