Warriors Swimming Produces Mixed Results

The swim and dive team has had an exciting season this year. Currently the girls are 4-1 and the boys 1-4. On January 19, both the boys and girls team faced off against the Poolesville Falcons with the girls comfortably winning 107-64. Freshman Morgan Hill put in an impressive first place in the 200-yard freestyle while seniors Anna Kolanowski and Kylie Sheapp helped win the 400-yard freestyle relay to finish off the Flacons and further cement their dominance over the division. The boys had less success as they fell short 115-56. Senior Peyton Brailsford and sophomore Austin Kong swam well in their respective events and tried to rally the boys but it was not enough as the Falcons placed first in both the relays which finally sunk the boy Warriors.

The next and last dual meet of the season is on January 26 at Germantown Indoor Swim Center against Blair. After that the Division II championships are on February 2 at 7:30 a.m. Currently the boys are fifth in the division while the girls are second. With a first place finish at Divisionals, the girls will be crowned as the champions and will most certaintly see themselves moving up to Division I next season.
