The wrestling team currently has a 5-6 record about three-quarters of the way through the season. Sherwood recently wrestled in two tournaments, the Cougar Claus tournament at Quince Orchard and the Big Train Duals at Walter Johnson. At the Cougar Claus, the team won 5-3 and went 7-1 in the Big Train Duals, with their only loss was to Paint Branch in the finals.  In addition to tournaments, the team also has regular matches and recently lost to Blair 39-37.

The Warriors next have the Grapple at the Brook tournament coming up on January 18 and 19 at Springbrook, and then there will be only three matches until the end of the season. the next match is against Damascus on January 23, followed later with dual meets against Wheaton and Paint Branch.

“I feel as if we have done mediocre so far,” said junior captain Chris Minor. “There were a couple of matches that we should have won that we didn’t. Our team has been in a rebuilding stage for the past two years, so I think we are about the same as last year’s squad but we will improve drastically in the next couple of years.”
