Warriors Swim to First Place

Saturday, December 15, was an exciting day for both the boys’ and girls’ swim team. Facing Damascus, the boys won 102-69 and the girls 113-58. Sophomore Austin Kong championed the 200-yard freestyle and freshman Morgan Hill swept away the competition in the 500-yard freestyle. Both teams rallied around both their first place 400-yard freestyle relays which garnered valuable points and sealed the win. “It was a good meet with some close calls but we dominated and it showed because we got the big W” said senior captain Andrew Braker.
The next meet will be held at the Olney Swim Center on January 12 at 11:30 a.m. against Quince Orchard. It will be a close meet as both teams have evenly matched rosters. “They are good and I personally know some of the swimmers. It’s always more intense racing against your friends, especially if you swim with them outside of school. I’m pretty confident that we have a good chance this Saturday” said junior Kelly Flamand.
