America Fueling War

by  Shaan Verma ’13

America sells billions of dollars in weapons to countries across the globe such as Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and Greece. This act can be considered a threat to the nation as the selling of arms to these countries begs the question of whether or not America will be fueling another war. Even with surveillance and special intelligence, it is impossible to completely foresee a country’s next action. America might just be selling weapons to its next enemy. This could potentially hurt America’s defenses as we could get attacked by our own weapons and armor. If we don’t stop distributing arms to foreign countries, it could come back to haunt us. By giving military equipment to other countries, America is essentially handing over blueprints of its own equipment. Information is powerful. America should be protecting its military-related information instead of distributing equipment to other countries.
