Sherwood Co-Ed Volleyball Continues to Knock Out Competition

By Lauren Cosca ’15

Sherwood’s co-ed volleyball finished its regular season with a record of 10-1 after beating tough competition in Magruder, Gaithersburg and Wootton. Their only loss was against Clarksburg on March 23 at Sherwood. With this record the Warriors have claimed the division title and earned itself a #3 seed in the county playoffs.

On April 29, Sherwood won their senior night against Wootton in a home game. Sherwood won the first match with a score of 25-16. They fell in the second game to Wootton with an ending score of 25-23. Sherwood continued to win the next two sets with scores of 25-11 and 25-14. This was an important game for the team because it determined seeding in the playoffs and tested if the team was playoff-ready.

Playoffs start Monday, May 4, at home against Wheaton at 7 pm. “We need our seniors to step up in the playoffs if we’re going to win it all,” said Coach Bryan Clark.
