After beating Blake 19-5 at home on May 9 in the sectional semifinal and then winning 15- 5away at Springbrook, the varsity girls lacrosse team saw its season come to an end on May 13 in a playoff loss against Howard, losing 16-14.

The team enjoyed a great regular season, going 11-1 with the only loss against Good Counsel on May 1 by a score of 21-12. According to Coach Kelly Hughes, the girls’ strengths were great speed, ball handling and stick skills, with many of the girls playing year-round on club teams. A few standout players are juniors Delaney McMenamin (committed to George Washington), Taylor Andrews (Army) and Kristen Russell (James Madison) who do an outstanding job running the midfield. The Warriors late in the season were ranked 51st in the country and 5th in Maryland, according to maxpreps.com.
