Sherwood’s Parent, Teacher and Student Association (PTSA) held a drug and driving safety presentation Tuesday night. The event addressed important alcohol and drug statistics and prevention techniques. The program had a large turnout and was open to the Sherwood cluster community.

Steve Chaikin (above), the Division Chief of Community Prosecution of the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, and Commander David Gillespie of the 5th District Police Station gave in-depth presentations on the topic. The officers urged the community to report teen alcohol and tactics to avoid these dangerous situations in the first place.

A Q&A panel made up of Chaikin, Captain Laura Lanham (Commander 4th District), Mauricio Veiga (Sherwood Resource Officer), Jayme Derbyshire and Jeffrey Innocenti (Alcohol Enforcement Unit) was held at the end of the event.
