Sherwood Says Goodbye to Beloved Nurse

by Lexi Matthews ’18

Jennifer Jones, Sherwood School Nurse, announced her departure from the school on January 23 in an email to all staff. Jones will be taking on a new role in school health services for MCPS supporting over 300 diabetics countywide.

“I have loved being a part of Sherwood and will miss everyone. I do not know what I will do without Norma,” said Jones, referring to her colleague and health technician Norma Arzate. While Jones has already accepted her new position, a shortage of nurses in the county requires her to stay at Sherwood during this transition time performing both of her duties. It is unclear when a new nurse will join the Sherwood staff at this time.
